Chief Executive Officer / Chairman of the Board
Prior to joining Closewatch, John was founder, Chairman and CEO of Dalton Creations, a Houston, Texas company involved in locating, funding and operating private and public investment projects. During his tenure, Dalton Creations was involved in the energy manufacturing, oil and gas exploration and production, telecommunication and entertainment industries.
Previously, John financed and sold ATAG, Inc., an energy company involved in the manufacture of subsea blowout prevention control systems. His primary responsibilities at ATAG included financial direction.
John was also the CEO and cofounder of WorldPort Communications, Inc., an international communications company involved in transatlantic fiber-optic cable ownership, domestic and international switching operations, operator services and technology-based telecommunications solutions for the international communications industry. As cofounder, he participated in the development and implementation of the company's business strategies, as well as securing $300 million in capital. WorldPort went on to create $350 million in market capitalization for its shareholders and was sold to Energsis, Ltd. of London, England for $570 million.
Prior to cofounding WorldPort, John was sole owner of a successful permanent and temporary employment company in Houston, Texas, served as Internal Audit Director for Anderson Clayton (Quaker Oaks/Seven Seas Foods), Controller/Associate Publisher of World Tennis Magazine and International Controller for Buttes Gas & Oil/Progress Drilling and Marine, Inc. an oil and gas explorations and production company with a sixty rig international drilling operation.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administrations in Public Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and has completed advanced accounting hours at the University of Houston in Houston.
