Dr. Knight has more than 20 yrs. of experience building and exiting startup, midsized & Fortune 500 companies. He specializes in real-time spatiotemporal pattern analysis, geospatial data solutions, sales and marketing team growth & management, capital sourcing and fundraising. Currently, he serves as Vice President of Hexagon Geospatial.
A former candidate for United States Senate, he served as the Founding Member of the Partner Advisory Council at Esri, and as an Executive and Advisor at startups including SpaceCurve, Securrency, CitySourced, and Radiance Solar. Dr. Knight has also held Executive positions at Critigen (spinoff of CH2M Hill), QL2 Software and Insightful (TIBCO). Dr. Knight’s first technology role was at Apple Computer from ’91 – ’95, and he has served on the Board of the Sierra Club in Georgia, as an advisor and fundraiser for primatologist Jane Goodall and as a Member of the DeKalb Community Service Board.
Dr, Knight has a Doctorate degree in Ecosystems Analysis from the University of Washington, Seattle, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow for the National Science Foundation at the American Institute of Biological Sciences, as lead CyberInfrastructure Engineer during the design phase for the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON). Dr. Knight has a degree in Environmental Studies from Middlebury College in Vermont, and graduated from The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA. He and his family reside in Atlanta, GA.
